Figure 5: The radiosonde receives signals from LORAN beacons A,B and C. The time difference between receival of the signal from beacons A and B places the sonde at any point on the hyperbola Tab. The time difference between receival of the signal from beacons A and C places the sonde at any point on the hyperbolae Tac. Thus the sonde lies at the intersection of Tab and Tac.
