Equatorial Pacific Sea Surface Temperature Anomalies

The temporal evolution of equatorial Pacific sea surface temperature (SST) anomlies are shown in the Hovmoller diagram below. The equatorial SST anomalies shown here are mean values from 5S to 5N for each longitude, the anomalies are calculated by removing the mean annual cycle. The Hovmoller x-axis is longitude across the equatorial Pacific from 160E to 270E (160E to 90W) and the y-axis is time.
