Chilbolton meteorological sensors

Introduction

Standard meteorological measurements are made at Chilbolton in support of all experiments at the Observatory. The measurements provided in this dataset are temperature, dew point, pressure, wind speed and wind direction. The instruments used are,

• Rotronic Temperature and Relative Humidity Sensor
• KDG Pressure Transducer
• Vector Instruments A100H Anemometer
• Vector Instruments W200 Windvane

Data format

The data are collected into a single file in NetCDF format. There is a file for both the Chilbolton Observatory and the supporting Sparsholt station 8 km to the SE. These measurements ended at Sparsholt on 22 May 2007.

Conditions of use

If data are used in any publication or report then acknowledgement must be given to the Chilbolton Group at the STFC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory for providing the data.
